There has been a considerable shift in the funding of minor procedures in recent years resulting in many procedures no longer being available on the NHS as they are now defined as cosmetic. As a result patients are having to pay for these services.
The Brighton Skin Surgery (BSS) was set up to offer patients the choice of a local GP led service to have skin blemishes they find undesirable removed at an affordable price in a professional, friendly and sensitive setting.
BSS is run by Dr Avni Patel, an experienced GP who has been providing minor surgical services for many years. In addition to BSS she continues to run a GP based dermatology minor surgery service on behalf of Brighton and Hove NHS.
Skin lumps removed include skin tags, skin or scalp cysts, moles, warts, cherry spots and milia. Most patients would be able to leave the surgery within an hour and would be able to drive home.
